How much does it cost to find a housekeeper?
Registration is free and you only pay when unlocking a candidate's contact details: Basic €35 (3 profiles), Active search €59 (7) and Professional €108 (15), VAT included, paid once by card. There is no subscription or recurring payment, and unlocked profiles stay available for 30 days.
What does a housekeeper earn per month?
Pay cannot be lower than the SMI pro rata: €1,221 gross per month across 14 payments in 2026 for full-time, and in part-time the hourly rate pro rata of the hours worked. For full domestic service with exclusive dedication the figure is agreed above that floor according to experience, languages and whether the arrangement is live-in. The platform fee is a separate one-off payment and is not deducted from the salary.
What does a housekeeper's job include?
Full domestic service: cleaning, laundry, ironing, simple cooking and keeping the house organised. It does not include childcare or care for older people, which are hired as a nanny or a carer. In large homes it pays to set one day for shopping and another for bed linen, and to write down what happens when guests arrive.
Does she need Social Security registration?
Yes. The household-employee scheme requires Social Security registration, pay no lower than the SMI pro rata and a formalised contract. The special employment relationship for domestic service is governed by Royal Decree 1620/2011. Administration of the contract and registration is included in the plan.
Can I hire someone with no previous experience?
We set no minimum number of years: stated experience is checked against references from previous households and against the 20-question professional test, scored from 0 to 100. For a home with clear routines and a single person, someone with little experience can work out. With staff to coordinate, frequent guests or cooking for the whole family, insist on demonstrable experience.
What level of Spanish does a housekeeper need?
Every profile lists its languages and the catalogue can be filtered by them; we do not ask for a certificate. Full domestic service means dealing with suppliers, the school and other staff, so conversational Spanish is what makes the difference. Where the household speaks another language, check it in the interview.
How do you verify documentation?
Before publishing we check ID or passport, verifiable references from previous employers and a background check. The candidate also records a video presentation of up to 2 minutes and takes the 20-question professional test — 10 on experience, 10 on psychological profile. Contact details are opened from the employer dashboard according to the plan you buy.
Can she live in the house?
Yes, it is common in full domestic service with exclusive dedication. A live-in arrangement must provide a room, meals and at least 10 hours of uninterrupted night rest. Conditions — days off, visitors, use of shared areas — belong in the contract so they are not argued about later.
How long does it take to find a housekeeper?
We give no deadline in days because it depends on the city and the profile you need: the catalogue opens when payment is confirmed and new profiles are published after verification. Access lasts 30 days, so you can write to several candidates and interview without rushing. Sevilla and Málaga have a wider market than small municipalities.
What if the person I choose does not work out?
Every plan includes several unlocks — 3, 7 or 15 depending on the plan — so you can discard a candidate after the interview or the trial period and open another without paying again. If the problem is how duties are split, rewriting the contract and the task list usually solves it. There is no subscription or automatic renewal.
