Private driver: frequently asked questions

A private driver handles the family's journeys: school runs, errands, airport transfers and vehicle care. A valid category B licence held for years, a clean record, discretion and punctuality are expected. Where dedication is continuous, the employment contract with Social Security registration is the usual route.

Frequently asked questions

How much does it cost to hire a private driver?

Registration is free and payment is one-off when unlocking contact details: Basic €35 (3 profiles), Active search €59 (7) and Professional €108 (15), VAT included and no subscription. Unlocked profiles remain available for 30 days. The driver's salary is agreed separately in the contract.

What does a private driver earn per month?

For continuous dedication the indicative range in Andalusia is €1,600 to €2,400 gross per month, always above the SMI of €1,221 across 14 payments in 2026. Waiting hours, trips outside the province and whether the car belongs to the family all weigh in. The platform does not set the salary.

What does a private driver's job include?

Private driving for the family: school runs, errands, airport transfers and vehicle care. Before starting, agree which car is driven, who pays fuel and maintenance and how waiting time is recorded. Out-of-hours use of the vehicle must be written down.

Is there a contract and Social Security?

Yes: where dedication is continuous it is formalised with an employment contract and Social Security registration. The domestic-service framework is Royal Decree 1620/2011. Administration of the contract and registration is included in the plan.

Can I hire a driver with no experience?

We ask for no minimum number of years, but a valid category B licence held for years, a clean record and punctuality are required; each profile states its experience and references confirm it. The 20-question professional test scores from 0 to 100 and helps compare. Long journeys or high-end vehicles call for specific experience.

Does the driver need to speak Spanish?

Every profile lists its languages and the catalogue filters by them. Dealing with the school, the garage and the rest of the household staff takes conversational Spanish. If the family communicates in another language, check it in the interview.

How do you verify the licence and documents?

We check ID or passport, driving licence, background and references from previous employers before publishing the profile. Each candidate records a video presentation of up to 2 minutes and takes the 20-question professional test — 10 on experience, 10 on psychological profile. Contact details are opened with the plan you buy.

Can the driver live in the house?

A live-in arrangement can be agreed, though live-out with punctual availability is more common. If he lives in, the household must provide a room, meals and at least 10 hours of uninterrupted night rest. Night or weekend services must be planned for in the contract.

How long does it take to find a private driver?

We promise no deadline in days: the catalogue opens when payment is confirmed and new profiles are published after document verification. Access lasts 30 days, enough to interview several profiles and check references. It is a smaller pool than cleaning, so it is worth reviewing the catalogue calmly.

What if the driver is not the right fit?

You can open another profile within the same plan — 3, 7 or 15 unlocks — without paying again. When the problem is schedules or use of the car, rewriting those clauses in the contract fixes it. The payment is one-off: no subscription and no automatic renewal.
