Cleaner: frequently asked questions

A cleaner looks after the home — general and deep cleaning, ironing and changing bed linen — hourly or full-time. It is the most requested profession on the platform in Andalusia, especially in flats and holiday rentals. The usual employment relationship is the Spanish household-employee scheme under Royal Decree 1620/2011, with a contract and Social Security registration.

Frequently asked questions

How much does it cost to hire a cleaner in Andalusia?

Registration and publishing a profile are free; the employer pays only when unlocking contact details. Basic is €35 (3 full profiles), Active search €59 (7) and Professional €108 (15), VAT included and paid once by card. There is no subscription, and the profiles you unlock stay available for 30 days.

What does a cleaner earn per hour or per month?

Pay is agreed in the contract and can never fall below the SMI: €1,221 gross per month across 14 payments in 2026, and in part-time the hourly rate pro rata of the hours worked, prorated to weekly hours. Hourly cleaning is usually part-time; full-time pay rises with experience and duties. The platform fee is separate and is not part of the salary.

What does a cleaner's job include?

General and deep cleaning, ironing, changing bed linen and day-to-day upkeep, hourly or full-time. It does not include childcare or care for older people: that is a nanny or a carer, hired separately. Before starting, put in writing what gets cleaned daily and what is done deep once a week.

Is a contract and Social Security registration required?

Yes. The usual relationship is that of a household employee (special scheme), with Social Security registration and a written contract once the minimum hours are exceeded. The framework is Royal Decree 1620/2011, which governs the special employment relationship for domestic service. Administration of the contract and registration is included in your plan.

Can I hire a cleaner with no experience?

The platform sets no minimum number of years: each profile states its experience and the 20-question professional test scores it from 0 to 100. For a home with simple routines, someone with little experience can work out. If there is delicate ironing, specialist flooring or specific products, prioritise profiles with demonstrable experience and references.

Does the cleaner need to speak Spanish?

We do not require an official level, but every profile lists its languages and the catalogue can be filtered by them. Understanding cleaning instructions, products and schedules takes conversational Spanish. If the household speaks another language, check it in the interview before signing the contract.

How do you verify a cleaner's documents?

Before publishing the profile we check ID or passport, references from previous employers and a background check. Each candidate also records a video presentation of up to 2 minutes and takes the 20-question professional test — 10 on experience, 10 on psychological profile. Contact details are unlocked when you open the profile with your plan.

Can the cleaner live in the house?

Yes, although hourly cleaning is normally live-out. If a live-in arrangement is agreed, the household must provide a room, meals and at least 10 hours of uninterrupted night rest. That condition belongs in the contract, together with days off and the tasks that fall outside the schedule.

How long does it take to find a cleaner?

We do not promise a deadline in days: the catalogue opens as soon as payment is confirmed, and new profiles are published once they pass verification. The plan gives 30 days of access, enough to compare several profiles, write to them and hold interviews. Sevilla, Málaga and Cádiz have deeper pools than small municipalities.

What if the cleaner is not the right fit?

A plan is not limited to one person: Basic opens 3 profiles, Active search 7 and Professional 15, so you can open another within the same plan. If the mismatch is about duties or hours, the fastest fix is usually to correct the contract in writing before changing person. There is no automatic renewal — the payment is one-off.
