Arrangement and conditions
A nanny can work full-time, part-time or live-in. A live-in arrangement must provide a room, meals and at least 10 hours of uninterrupted night rest. Pay can never fall below the SMI (€1,184 gross per month across 14 payments in 2026; €8.87 per hour part-time) and the hire is formalised with an employment contract and Social Security registration.
